Twelve years ago I was sitting in a darkened room in the middle of the night, breastfeeding James.
lf asleep, not thinking about anything in particular except the bone aching tiredness. And One of many arrived. The whole thing.
Nothing as tidy as a business plan. Just a very clear sense of what I was supposed to do next (and no time at all to do anything about it because I had a 6-week old!)
I’ve not had marching orders that strong since.
Until the last few weeks. It started the night before our Autumn Planning retreat with my team.
And the signs around me have been going crazy since. Winks from the universe that say, "I'm here, I'm listening." All the way through to running into an old mentor of mine randomly in a country town in Victoria.
I had an astrology reading recently that reaffirmed everything I’d already been feeling about why this event needs to happen, and when. I’ve been pulling oracle cards that keep saying the same thing back to me.
I know how that sounds. I'm a bloody doctor, after all. If you can't prove it to me, I don't believe you!
But I’m also a Seeker and I know I’d be a fool to ignore it.
So shove over, scientist…
Here’s what I think is going on.
We launched One of many 12 years ago. Off the back of that breastfeeding insight.
The last twelve years have been limbering up. All of it. Every programme, every event, every one of you who has been through and learned the tools, done the work and gone out to change your coroner of the world.
COVID felt like a test run of what’s to come. Who is this community in the middle of insanity? We found out what we were capable of holding, and we found out how much it mattered to be able to reach each other.
And now here we are.
The river of chaos in the world right now is flowing ferociously huh?
I don’t know exactly what’s coming. My dearest wish is that it doesn’t get much worse than it is right now. But I’m not creating based on that assumption, because the guidance I’m getting isn’t about “just think positive and everything will be ok.”
Oh no no.
It’s about making sure we’re together and resourced before we need to be. Before this river breaks its banks and we’re flooded in it.
That’s why we’re creating Find the Light. It's a new event for our graduate community.
Yes, there’s content. Good content, things I’ve been working with for the last two years that I’m genuinely excited to share. But that’s not the reason I’m shouting about it front he rooftops.
The reason is that I want this community back in a room. Not scattered. Not reaching one another through a screen. In a room, properly, so we can work out what we need next together rather than separately.
None of us can do this on our own… we’ll struggle if we try.
It’s happening the 28th and 29th of November, Stratford Manor in the UK.
Early bird ends Friday, the 31st October.
If you’re feeling the call too, I’d love you there.
